Detained on 4 February 2015 as part of the prosecution of members of Hizb ut-Tahrir on suspicion of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation, arrested; in January 2016, a charge of preparing for a violent seizure of power was added. On 30 July 2018, sentenced to 22 years in a strict regime colony.

In 2014, he was a suspect in a case of involvement in an extremist organisation.
