Adam Shavkhalov

A resident of Moscow. Detained late in the evening of November 26, 2013, along with twelve other people, during a raid on the hostel where he was living at the time. Accused of preparing for a terrorist attack in the "Kirgizia" movie theater.

Human rights activists believe that there is no convincing evidence of his involvement in the crime; in their opinion, the persecution was part of a campaign to put pressure Muslims.

On 22 April 2016, he was sentenced to eleven years in a strict regime penal colony. Supposedly, he was released in November 2024.
