A case of incitement to ethnic hatred was opened because Aidar Khalim made emotional remarks about Russians mentioning Putin on 11 October 2014 during his speech at a rally dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Kazan who fell in 1552. On 24 May 2016, the prosecutor returned the case to the investigation. On 5 October 2017, the case was dismissed
