Alena Chernobaeva

A resident of the city of Kstovo (Nizhny Novgorod region). On 2 July 2024, her home was searched as part of a case on participating in activities of an extremist organisation due to her involvement with the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Members of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles of law solely for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, and attracting new supporters. Chernobayeva was detained, and the next day the court took her into custody.
