It also became known that on the day when Koshechko had a conflict, two eyewitnesses, one of whom was a deputy of the village council, beat him with a baseball bat and a shovel handle. A case was brought against them for intentional infliction by a group of persons of serious harm to health dangerous to human life, with the use of objects used as weapons. On 29 January 2025, the court of cassation instance overturned the acquittal verdict. On 18 March 2025, the court dismissed the case on reconsideration due to the expiry of the statute of limitations.
