Alexander Maurin

A resident of the Sverdlovsk region. He was accused of participating in the activities of an extremist organisation: the investigation believed that he was involved in the movement of "citizens of the USSR". Representatives of this movement deny the collapse of the USSR; it is not clear how structured this movement is or how serious the threat it poses to the Russian society is. Maurin was on his own recognisance. On 14 August 2024, he was sentenced to two years in a general regime penal colony.
