Alexander Rumyantsev

Resident of Moscow. On August 26, 2021, he was detained and on the next day taken into custody by the order of the court on the charges of organizing activities of an extremist organisation in connection with involvement in the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under the articles of the Criminal Code concerned with extremism solely for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, attracting new supporters. On December 22, 2023, Rumyantsev was sentenced to six and a half years in a general regime colony.
