Biography
Detained on 3 January 2019 during a search. After interrogation, he was released on his own recognizance. Charges were brought in connection with two actions: the installation of an effigy depicting Putin in a prison uniform and with the inscriptions “War criminal V.V. Pynya.” (referring to V.V. Putin) and “liar”, and by attaching an image of Putin’s face to a street Christmas tree and placing holey boxes underneath with the inscriptions “VAT 20 percent” and “self-employment tax.” Shabarchin claims that he did not participate in the actions.

On August 18, 2020, he was sentenced to two years in a general regime colony. On November 5, the appellate court replaced the real sentence with a suspended sentence.
