Alexei Simakov

A resident of Kirov, a handyman at a social services centre. A criminal case was opened against him for public justification of terrorism because of his comments on the Internet about the car bombing of writer and war propagandist Zakhar Prilepin. Newsler.ru published a video in which Simakov, handcuffed, says that after the outbreak of full-scale war he began studying "foreign information resources" and, having been exposed to the propaganda of "Ukrainian neo-Nazis", began to share their point of view, leaving comments on the Internet aimed at justifying terrorism and promoting the activities of the Freedom of Russia Legion and the RDK. Later it became known that a case of calls to extremism was also opened against him. On 20 September 2024, Simakov was sentenced to a fine of 400 thousand rubles.
