Alexey Cherviakov

A resident of the Safonovo (Smolensk region) was arrested on December 23, 2021, in a case concerning the defamation of a veteran The next day, the court placed him under house arrest. On February 17, 2022, it became known that other charges were brought against Chervyakov, which fell under the article on the rehabilitation of Nazism. On May 18, a measure of restraint was chosen for him in the form of a prohibition of certain actions. On July 19, 2022, Cherviakov was sentenced to one year and ten months in an open prison. While in the colony, Chervyakov testified against the deputy head of the institution, who had beaten seven prisoners. Following this, he was regularly placed in a punishment cell and denied treatment for his diabetes. Due to being placed in solitary, his condition worsened, and as a result, Chervyakov was either bedridden or confined to sitting at a table. For this, he received new penalties, and the colony administration assigned him the status of a persistent violator. On June 13, 2023, the court granted the colony administration's proposal to replace Cherviakov's open prison with a general regime penal colony. In March 2024, Cherviakov was released.
