Anatolii Marunov

On 20 October 2021, a search was conducted at Marunov's home, and he was detained and interrogated. On 22 October, the court decided to place him under house arrest on charges of organizing the activities of an extremist organization due to his involvement with the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under anti-extremist laws solely for their religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, and recruiting new followers.

On 12 July 2023, he was sentenced to six and a half years in a general regime penal colony.
