Biography

From 2003 to 2010, he was the Editor of the Finance department in the Vedomosti newspaper and the website's Deputy Editor-in-Chief. In 2010, he began working as a consultant for an international consulting company Bain & Company. Eventually, Panov became a project manager and a partner in the Moscow office of the company. There, he was an expert in aviation, financial, educational, and digital practices. In 2010, he began working as a consultant for an international consulting company Bain & Company. Eventually, Panov became a project manager and a partner in the Moscow office of the company. There, he was an expert in aviation, financial, educational, and digital practices. Among other projects, in 2014, he participated in the development of a strategy and the launch of the first Russian low-cost airline Pobeda. On December 26, 2018, Andrei Panov was appointed Deputy CEO for Strategy and Marketing at PJSC Aeroflot. There, he participated in the development of a strategy for a group of airlines—Aeroflot, Pobeda, Rossiya, and Aurora. Immediately after the war began, he resigned from the company and left Russia, publishing several anti-war statements. On April 12, 2022, his article in the Financial Times called on Russian business leaders and top managers to resign and sabotage the war "by delaying or ignoring every deal or contract that supports the military invasion or Russian propaganda." The next day, a criminal investigation was initiated against him. Panov is currently outside of Russia. On May 18th, the court ruled to arrest him in absentia
