Andrey Sorochkin

Activist of the local branch of the Yabloko party. On the eve of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 23 February 2022, held a solitary picket with the poster "War with brotherly Ukraine? Putin is completely fucked up", after which he was detained.

On 13 May 2022, Sorochkin was stopped by traffic police officers because he had a poster in the colours of the Ukrainian flag with the inscription "No to Shameful War" taped to the rear window of his car. He was informed that on 8 May a criminal case was opened against him for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Before that Sorochkin was brought to administrative responsibility four times under a similar article of the Code of Administrative Offences. On 31 May, his house and workplace were searched. The court chose a prohibition of certain actions as a preventive measure.

Later it became known that a new case under the same article was opened against Sorochkin because during the search a yellow and blue poster with the inscription "for the ruins of Mariupol we have piled Ukraine with corpses" was found. Sorochkin tried to leave Russia but was detained. On 10 July, the court placed him under house arrest. Then the cases were merged.

On 20 September, he was sentenced to a fine of 200,000 rubles.
