The investigation believes Osipova acted under the influence of scammers. She was initially charged with committing a terrorist act, but the charge was apparently toughened later, reclassified as a terrorist act with grave consequences.
Osipova testified in court that a woman first contacted her, posing as a Russian Post employee, claiming a letter had been sent to Osipova and she needed to enter her Gosuslugi password to track it via a Telegram channel. After several failed attempts, she was told that her account had been accessed from Kyiv and money was being transferred from her account to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; now, to avoid being labeled a "traitor to the motherland," she needed to deposit a large sum. In total, she transferred about three million rubles to the scammers. After that, she was instructed to throw Molotov cocktail bottles through the window of the police building.
On January 23, 2026, Osipova was sentenced to ten years in a general-regime penal colony.
