On 28 October 2021, a criminal case was opened against Zhurbenko for participation in the activities of an extremist organisation. On 28 February 2022, the investigation dismissed the case due to the absence of corpus delicti in Zhurbenko's actions. On 25 March, the prosecutor's office cancelled this ruling.
