Artem Budzherak

He was born in Tomsk, lived in Ukraine, and moved to Ivanovo in 2013. On 8 November 2022, he was detained at Moscow's Vnukovo airport when he was about to fly with his family to Serbia - before which he had sold all his property. He was told that a criminal case had been opened against him for participation in armed actions against Russia on the territory of a foreign state. Budjerak was taken to Ivanovo and taken into custody. A case of high treason was also opened against him. No later than 1 November 2023, the charge of participation in armed actions was dropped from him. "Mediazona" reports with reference to Bujerak's daughter that his conversations with his mother and sister, who live in Ukraine, appear in the case. His fishing buddies acted as witnesses in the case. The lawyer insisted that they had encouraged Budjerak to have provocative conversations, in particular mentioning his mother. On 30 October 2023, Budjerak was sentenced to six and a half years in a high-security penal colony. In January 2024, the court of appeal overturned the sentence because it was handed down by a single judge rather than a panel of three judges. On 14 June 2024, Budgerac was sentenced to six years and four months' imprisonment in a high-security colony.
