Artem Chernetsov

An opposition activist with socialist views.

He was detained in June 2016 together with Yegor Petryakov and three other minors with the same political views. After the detention he was sent to a pre-trial detention centre, while the others were released on their recognisance not to leave. Chernetsov was accused of organising the activities of an extremist community, weapons possession and drug trafficking.

On 15 March 2018, he was sentenced to 11 years in a strict regime penal colony. According to the support group, during the appeal hearing in the Chelyabinsk Regional Court, Chernetsov's sentence was slightly reduced.
