Artem Prokhorov

Journalist of the "Orlets" media based in Oryol, which often criticises local officials. The media's website and its VKontakte group were blocked due to its coverage of the war. In August 2022, Artem was detained on charges of extortion from a local businessman. The journalist was sent into custody. On the 26 August, he was transferred to house arrest. On the 24 October 2023, Prokhorov was sentenced to two and a half years' suspended sentence. It is possible that the case was part of the pressure on local journalists.
