Biography
A human rights defender and a former coordinator of the "Gulagu.net" project. He was a defendant in the rape case of a former investigator, he was acquitted in January 2022.
On 4 October 2024, Ushakov was detained at Ufa airport. According to his colleague Alexei Tishin, who is apparently on the same criminal case with him, Ushakov was handcuffed and taken to the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee. A case was initiated against the human rights defender for insulting a representative of the correction facility 9 (IK-9) in Bashkortostan. He connects it with the investigation of an event of torture
