On 27 September 2016, detained on charges of involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir, which was groundlessly recognised as a terrorist organisation. On 5 June 2017, he was sentenced to 16 years in a strict regime colony; on 6 October, the court of second instance reduced the sentence by two months.
