Danil Kunakbayev

He was a witness in the case of five alleged members of Hizb ut-Tahrir (Salavat Khabirov, Alfred Shaimov, whose group, according to the investigation, Kunakbayev belonged to, and others), which was being considered in Chelyabinsk; he was prosecuted on charges of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation; on August 3, 2016, he was sentenced to eight years in a general regime penal colony. He was released in September 2023.
