Biography

A former employee of the Anti-Corruption Foundation. Until 2017, he lived in Khabarovsk, worked as a correspondent for regional media, and was a staff member of the local Navalny Headquarters. In 2017, he moved to Moscow. Later, he left Russia. 

In July 2020, he was beaten by three unidentified individuals while covering the protests in Khabarovsk. In March 2021, together with a cameraman, he was attacked by an unknown in Yaroslavl (they were doused with green antiseptic dye).

In August 2022, it became known that a case had been opened against Nizovtsev for disseminating knowingly false information about the Russian Armed Forces. On 14 October, he was added to the registry of individuals designated as “foreign agents.” In April 2025, Nizovtsev was declared wanted; it became known that he was also accused of evading the obligations of a “foreign agent.” In an official statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nizovtsev was called a traitor to the Motherland.
