Biography
On the evening of December 2, 2015, Buchenkov was detained; at that time there was no official information about the reason, but an investigator told his girlfriend that he was suspected of involvement in the events on the Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012; his lawyer was unable to find him for two days; it was later officially confirmed that Buchenkov was a suspect in the 'Bolotnaya case. The court has arrested him for two months, however Buchenkov was not sent to a pre-trial detention centre, but remained in a temporary detention centre of the Moscow Department of Internal Affairs.
On the evening of December 2, 2015, Buchenkov was detained; at that time there was no official information about the reason, but an investigator told his girlfriend that he was suspected of involvement in the events on the Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012; his lawyer was unable to find him for two days; it was later officially confirmed that Buchenkov was a suspect in the 'Bolotnaya case. The court has arrested him for two months, however Buchenkov was not sent to a pre-trial detention centre, but remained in a temporary detention centre of the Moscow Department of Internal Affairs. He was suspected of participating in mass riots and using violence against the authorities based on a video where a person in black, allegedly resembling him, is involved. Buchenkov claimed that he was in Nizhny Novgorod with relatives during the Bolotnaya Square events and only returned to Moscow on the evening of May 6.
On March 2, 2017, Buchenkov was placed under house arrest.
On November 9, it became known that Buchenkov left Russia without waiting for the end of the trial. On November 15, the court arrested him in absentia and declared him wanted.
On December 24, 2019, the court sentenced him in absentia to two and a half years in a general regime colony. At the same time, the time Buchenkov spent in custody was counted for the entire sentence. The search for Buchenkov was terminated.
