Biography
On 1 May 2009, Dmitry Bychkov, an activist of the banned NBP, was detained on his way to a May Day demonstration; a search revealed a grenade and far-right leaflets, which, as Bychkov claims, were planted on him. He detained for two months in a pre-trial detention centre, where he was placed in the same cell with defendants in high-profile cases involving violent crimes. Then Dmitry released on personal recognisance, charged with illegal possession of explosives and participation in the activities of an extremist organisation. Dmitry was sentenced to two years and three months' suspended imprisonment
