On 20 July 2017 a case of incitement to hatred against Bulgarians was opened. Since July 2017, he was under a recognisance not to leave. On 24 May 2018, the Sudak City Court fined him 300 thousand rubles. On 6 February, the Supreme Court of Crimea cancelled the sentence due to partial decriminalisation of Article 282 of the Criminal Code.
