Dmitry Nadein

On 23 January 2021, Nadein was visited at home due to his post on VKontakte, in which he called for a rally in support of Alexei Navalny. He was arrested for 10 days under the administrative article on organising an unauthorised event. On 2 February, he was released from the special detention centre. The next day, he was detained again, this time under a criminal case of public justification of terrorism.

The reason for the criminal case was Nadein's statement about Mikhail Zhlobitsky, who had committed a self-bombing in the building of the Arkhangelsk FSB. He was taken into custody. In April 2021, a forensic psychiatric examination saw signs of insanity in Nadein's actions.

In June 2021 it became known that Nadein was secretly transported from Irkutsk to Khabarovsk. Later, the lawyer found out that it happened by mistake: the staff of the pre-trial detention centre assumed that the case would be considered not at an off-site session in the building of the Irkutsk Garrison Military Court but in the premises of the 1st Eastern District Military Court in Khabarovsk.

On 19 July 2021, the court decided to compulsorily send Nadein to a psychiatric hospital.

In March 2024, Nadein was released from the hospital. In April, he was prescribed compulsory outpatient treatment. Under the terms of the treatment, the man must check in with a psychiatrist on a monthly basis.
