Detained on 19 February 2018 in Chelyabinsk in connection with an action near the local directorate FSB building. Later he said that he was tortured and was forced to confess to organising the action. Became a suspect in a case of hooliganism. In November he was detained in connection with drawings on a transformer booth and a household building; a case of vandalism was opened, but Tsibukovsky was not charged. On 16 April 2020, detained in Tula and sent to Chelyabinsk, where the next day the court ordered him to be placed in custody. On 28 July 2020, transferred to house arrest. On 11 November, a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions was chosen.

10 September 2021 sentenced to two and a half years in a general regime penal colony, taken into custody in the courtroom. In addition to hooliganism, he was also accused of vandalism, but this charge was dropped by the court due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. On 24 November the court of appeal cancelled the verdict, sent the case for a new trial to the court of first instance and replaced the preventive measure with a prohibition of certain actions. On 19 September 2022, he was sentenced to two years in a general regime penal colony. The next day he was detained while trying to cross the Russian-Kazakh border in the Orenburg region. Was taken into custody. Released on 8 February 2023. On 14 December 2023, the court of cassation instance reduced the sentence by one month.
