Dmitry Vasiliev

On 27 July 2019, he was detained before a rally for fair elections. On 9 August, he was already detained as part of a criminal case, and before that, plainclothes officers standing at the gatehouse at the territory where Vasilyev's workplace is located asked his colleagues where he was. On the night of 10 August, Vasilyev was interrogated and left overnight in a temporary detention facility. Despite his diabetes, he was not given insulin and a glucometer, as a result of which he felt ill during the day and was sent to hospital, where he soon found himself in intensive care. This did not prevent the investigator from asking the court to take Vasilyev into custody on 11 August, but the court refused to elect a preventive measure. That day Vasilyev was transferred from the intensive care unit to the temporary detention centre at the hospital, but on 12 August he returned home. On 19 August it became known that Vasilyev was transferred from suspects to witnesses. On 3 September, the Investigative Committee announced the termination of Vasilyev's prosecution.
