Egamberdi Rakhmanzhanov

A citizen of Kyrgyzstan, he lived in Moscow. In September 2021, he was detained and taken into custody on charges of organising and participating in the activities of a terrorist organisation. Later he was charged only under the article on participation in activities. According to the investigation, he participated in the activities of a cell of the Islamist party "Hizb ut-Tahrir", recognised as a terrorist organisation and banned on the territory of the Russian Federation. Alleged members of this Islamist party are prosecuted by Russian authorities on charges of purely formal party affiliation rather than terrorist activity. On 7 December 2022, a verdict was declared, details are unknown.
