Biography
Citizen of Ukraine. On 16 May 2022 he was taken into custody in St. Petersburg as a part of a vandalism case. On 14 November, he was sentenced to a fine of 30 thousand rubles, a more lenient punishment than provided for by the 2nd part of Article 214 of the Criminal Code. In addition, the court deducted Kazanets's time spent in custody from the punishment, thus relieving him of the need to pay the fine. On 25 January 2023, the court of appeal overturned the verdict and sent the case for a new trial, granting the prosecution's motion:
