Evgeny Zhukov

Resident of Sevastopol. On October 1, 2020, Zhukov's house was searched, and he was detained. The next day, the court ruled to take him into custody in the case of organising the activities of an extremist organisation in connection with his involvement in the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are persecuted under extremist articles solely for their religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, and attracting new supporters. On May 17, 2021, he was transferred to house arrest. In October, the measure of restraint was changed to a ban on certain actions. On October 6, 2022, he was sentenced to six years in a general regime colony.
