detained in connection with a peaceful action by Greenpeace activists who in September 2013 sailed on the Arctic Sunrise ship to the Prirazlomnaya oil production platform in the Pechora Sea to protest against the development of oil and gas fields on the Arctic shelf; the ship was forcibly stopped and all those on board were detained. She was accused of piracy; later, the charge was reclassified as hooliganism. She has been in custody since September 2013 and was released on bail in November 2013. Amnestied in December 2013
