Chairman of the Presidium of the All-Tatar Public Centre, which was recognized as an extremist organization and liquidated by the Supreme Court of Tatarstan on June 10th, 2022, Zakiev left Russia following the outbreak of full-scale war.
On June 4th, 2024, it was revealed that a criminal case had been opened against Zakiyev under the article on spreading "fakes" about the Russian army.
