Igor Safronov

Resident of Kaluga, left-wing activist, participating in protest actions since 2011. According to the "Beware of the News" Telegram channel, after one of these actions he was detained and under duress forced to cooperate with the authorities. No later than August 2023, a criminal case was opened against him on high treason, preparation for high treason and a number of terrorist articles: according to the investigation, he cooperated with the Ukrainian special services. On September 10, 2024, Safronov was sentenced to 20 years in a strict regime colony.
