Under the article on illegal border crossing, a local Kazakh court sentenced Sandzhiev to six months of suspended imprisonment and ordered his deportation to Russia for five years, citing the rejection of his asylum request as well as his lack of relatives, employment, and permanent residence. On May 25, 2023, the West Kazakhstan Regional Court rejected his appeal.
In Russia, the investigation was resumed in an old case against Sandzhiev concerning battery. Allegedly, he was identified by a man who had been pushed on a street in Elista. In addition, in April 2023, a new case was opened against him for unauthorized abandonment of a military unit.
