Igor Schmidt

Resident of Sevastopol. On 1 October 2020, Shmidt's house was searched, he was detained. The next day, the court decided to take him into custody in the case of organising activities of an extremist organisation due to his involvement in the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles solely for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, attracting new supporters. On 23 March 2021, Shmidt was transferred to house arrest.

On 22 October 2021, he was sentenced to six years in a general regime colony.
