Resident of Kazan. Since 2007, he has been brought to criminal and administrative responsibility concerning his involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir. In 2009, he was sentenced to five years' imprisonment in a case in which Article 278 of the Criminal Code (Forcible seizure of power) was first applied against alleged members of Hizb ut-Tahrir. In 2015, he was sentenced to a two-year suspended sentence under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (incitement to hatred or enmity) for disseminating Hizb ut-Tahrir ideas on the Internet. In 2014, he was fined 2,000 rubles under part 1 of article 20.3 of the Administrative Code (demonstration of symbols of a banned organisation) for placing flags and stickers with the shahada (a symbol of the Islamic faith in Arabic) on his car.

On 14 March 2017, he was detained after a search and then arrested on charges of organising the activities of a terrorist organisation, again for alleged involvement with Hizb ut-Tahrir, which has no connection to terrorism.

To these charges, a charge of incitement to hatred was added on 25 December, and a charge of calling for terrorist activity was added on 8 January 2018.

On 5 February 2020, he was sentenced to 22 years in a special regime colony.
