Biography
Resident of Moscow. Late in the evening of 26 November 2013, detained together with twelve other people during a raid on the hostel where he had checked in to stay overnight an hour before. Accused of preparing for a terrorist attack in the Kirgizia cinema.
Human rights activists believe that there is no convincing evidence of his involvement in the crime; in their opinion, the persecution was part of a campaign to pressure Muslims.

The case file contains the testimony of witness Timur Ozdoyev, who claims that in 2011 ten defendants, including Balakadashev, blocked his entrance to the mosque in the village of Ekazhevo in Ingushetia and insulted him, although, according to lawyers, Balakadashev was living and working in Rostov-on-Don at the time.
On 22 April 2016, he was sentenced to eleven years in a strict regime colony.
Presumably, he was released in November 2024.
