Iulia Tretiakova

Born in Belgorod Region, she is believed to have lived in Murmansk Region. On 5 March 2024, she was detained in Belarus. KGB officers handed her over to Russian security forces, after which she was transferred to Russia and placed in custody in Murmansk. Tretiakova was charged with high treason: according to the investigation, she had filled out application forms to join the “Freedom of Russia” Legion and attempted to travel to Ukraine via Belarus. She claimed she did not intend to take up arms, but wanted to find her Ukrainian relatives and help them. On 6 December 2024, Tretiakova was sentenced to twelve and a half years in a general regime penal colony.
