A Ukrainian serviceman, he was captured in Mariupol in the spring of 2022. On 18 March 2024, a court in the Russian-occupied part of Ukraine’s Donetsk region sentenced him to 26 or 27 years in a high-security penal colony on charges of attempted murder, the use of prohibited methods of warfare, and damage to property. According to investigators, he and other Ukrainian servicemen allegedly shelled residential buildings and civilian infrastructure on the outskirts of Mariupol. In addition, a separate case was opened against him for alleged involvement in the activities of the Azov Battalion.
