Detained on 28 January 2018 during the dispersal of the Voters' Strike action together with Alexei Navalny. He was arrested for 30 days under the administrative article on repeated violation of the order of holding public events (at the same time, the court arrested him for 15 days under the article on disobedience to the lawful demands of police officers). While Saltykov was in the special detention centre, he was visited by officers of the Investigative Committee, who informed him that he was being investigated because he was suspected of using violence against representatives of the authorities. Two hours before the end of his administrative arrest, he was detained and taken into custody the next day - he was accused of using violence against two policemen. Saltykov claimed that he had no intention to harm the officers, but wanted to help Navalny, who was roughly detained. On 22 October, he was sentenced to ten months in a general regime colony and released in the courtroom.
