Lev Bogatishchev

An entrepreneur from Cherepovets. He was charged with justifying terrorism online in connection with comments he posted between 2019 and 2020. According to investigators, Bogatishchev expressed support for the activities of Dzhokhar Dudayev and Shamil Basayev, and posted remarks approving violence against the Russian military.

On 15 January 2025, the court sentenced him to four years’ imprisonment, with the first two years to be served in prison and the remainder in a general-regime colony. In June, the court of appeal revised the sentence, increasing it to five years, but ruling that the entire term be served in a general-regime colony.
