The next day, the court decided to send Skoryakin to custody. On 13 July 2022, a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions was chosen. Skoryakin managed to leave Russia. In June 2023, he was detained in Bishkek and placed in a pre-trial detention centre, but in September he was released as the Kyrgyz Prosecutor General's Office refused to extradite him to Russia because he had requested political asylum. After his release from the pre-trial detention centre, the activist hsd a German ersatz passport issued, he received humanitarian protection from Germany and was ready to go there. On 13 October, the day of Vladimir Putin's visit to the summit in Kyrgyzstan, Skoryakin was detained by officers of the country's State Committee for National Security. The activist was held for two hours in the office of the security service and released after his Russian passport was confiscated.

Skoryakin was detained again on 16 October. According to him, the law enforcers drove him around the city by car. They did not take away the activist's phone, but he could not contact anyone. In the early morning of 17 October Skoryakin was locked alone in the car, handcuffed and his phone was confiscated. Later that morning, he was handed over to the Russian authorities. The two Russian law enforcers did not identify themselves; they had with them a laptop, which the activist had left in a hostel in Bishkek. They put him on a plane and kept him handcuffed during the flight. At Moscow's Domodedovo airport he was taken for interrogation in a windowless room. During the interrogation, two FSB officers beat him on his chest, head and legs. After that, Skoryakin was placed in an investigative isolator.

On 13 December 2023, Skoryakin was sentenced to a fine of 500,000 rubles and released from payment due to his detention.
