Resident of Chechnya, engineer, master of sports in taekwondo. Criticised the regime of Ramzan Kadyrov. In 2020, he was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony in a drug distribution case, Movlaev linked the prosecution to his anti-establishment statements. Movlayev was released on parole in 2022. In August of the same year, he was kidnapped by Department of Internal Affairs' officers of the Shalinsky district of Chechnya. For some time the activist was held in one of the "illegal prisons", where he claims he was tortured. In 2023, he managed to escape and got to Kyrgyzstan without documents. A case was opened against him for financing extremist activities - according to supporters, it was falsified: the reason for the case was a transfer to the cryptocurrency wallet of the Chechen opposition channel "1ADAT", which, according to the authors of the channel, was made by security forces. In August 2023, Movlayev was detained and taken into custody in Kyrgyzstan on charges of illegal border crossing. In October, a court in Bishkek sentenced the activist to six months in a penal colony with subsequent deportation to Russia. However, according to "1ADAT" administrator Ibragim Yangulbaev, the activist managed to flee the country. In October 2024, Movlayev reported that his brothers Zelimkhan and Khamzat had been kidnapped in Chechnya in September.
