Biography
One of the key figures in the VOLYA party. On February 11, 2016, she was charged with large-scale fraud. According to the investigation team, Gerasimova put pressure on her colleague and forced her to hand over to Gerasimova a car with its registration documents in payment of a supposed debt. On February 19, 2016, as part of the investigation into this case, a series of searches took place in the Samara region at the homes of party members, including its leader Svetlana Lada-Rus (Peunova). On February 20, 2016, Gerasimova was taken into custody.

Lada-Rus herself is also on trial: according to the investigation team, she also put pressure on Gerasimova's colleague by pretending to be a healer.
On August 9, 2016, the VOLYA party was liquidated by the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation as an extremist organisation for publishing materials deemed extremist on its website.
Later it became known that Gerasimova was charged with large-scale fraud, participation in the activities of NGOs that infringe on the life and rights of citizens, and intentional infliction of serious harm to health (this charge was later reclassified as unintentional).
In May 2017, Gerasimova was transferred under house arrest. On March 27, 2019, she was sentenced to correctional labour and a fine of 330 thousand rubles, but was released from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations on the articles on the activities of NGOs and causing harm to health, and as for the article on fraud, the time she spent in custody and house arrest was taken into account.
