On 20 January 2015, while serving an administrative arrest at the Special Detention Centre No. 2 for participation in solitary pickets on 10 January, Galperin was taken to the Investigation Department of the Central Administrative District of Moscow. Before being allowed inside, he was kept in the car in his slippers for six hours, as a result of which he got a fever. He was charged under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code. He was given a recognisance not to leave the country. On 21 March Galperin was detained as a result of a provocation during a solitary picket, and the court ruled to add the materials of the administrative case to his criminal case. Later, the case was terminated, as the last detention was indicated in the case file as an offence preceding the one that became the reason for the initiation of the case.

In 2016, a case was opened on calls to extremism using the Internet (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code). The reason was a video of Galperin's interview. On 7 February 2017, the activist was detained and searched. On 15 June, he was charged, and on 27 June, he was placed under house arrest. On 7 March 2018, he was given a two-year suspended sentence. Galperin was also given a probation period of three years with a ban on being a participant or organiser of public associations.

On 10 October 2019, Galperin's probation was extended for one month and he was ordered not to attend mass events. This was preceded by repeated detentions and long-term arrests under administrative articles in connection with the actions in the summer of 2019.

On 4 December, the court replaced Galperin's suspended sentence with a real one, the same day Galperin was taken into custody. He was released on 25 March 2021.
