Mark Serov

Resident of Kazan. On 6 April 2023, he was searched in a vandalism case because of the graffiti "No to War" and "some negative statements" about Vladimir Putin. Shortly before the search, Serov, together with other activists, had registered a regional branch of the Civil Initiative party in Kazan. After that, a post with threats against them appeared in a local Telegram channel, presumably affiliated with the law enforcers. After the search Serov was taken to the police station, where they drew up a report under the administrative article on the organisation of an uncoordinated event (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences) because of a spontaneous memorial in memory of the civilians of Dnieper who died under rocket fire and left overnight until the trial.
