Marlen Asanov

On 11 October 2017, he was detained after a search, charged with organising the activities of a cell of a terrorist organisation in connection with alleged involvement in the Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which has nothing to do with terrorism. On 12 October, he was arrested. In February 2019, he was also accused of preparing for a violent seizure of power.

On 16 September 2020, he was sentenced to 19 years in a strict regime colony.
