Matlyuba Nasimova

Resident of Moscow. Late in the evening of 26 November 2013, detained as a result of a raid on the flat she lived in and rented out as a hostel, together with twelve guests. Accused of preparing a terrorist attack on the Kirgizia cinema.

Human rights activists believe that there is no convincing evidence of her involvement in the crime; in their opinion, the persecution was part of a campaign to pressure Muslims.

On 22 April 2016, she was sentenced to 11 years in a general regime penal colony.

Presumably, she was released in November 2024.
