Maxim Kuzakhmetov

A journalist from St Petersburg, Kuzakhmetov is the host of the YouTube channel Looking for a Way Out, a former presenter on Ekho Moskvy radio, former editor-in-chief of Moskovsky Komsomolets in St Petersburg, and editor-in-chief of Secretnaya istoriya (Secret History) magazine. He is also a supporter of the idea of an independent Ingria — the region surrounding St Petersburg. In spring 2022, he relocated to Riga.

On 2 June 2023, Kuzakhmetov was added to the register of “foreign agents”.

On 26 August 2025, he was included in Rosfinmonitoring’s list of “terrorists and extremists”. The details of the case remain unknown.
